Subject: 2020 Labor Award Banquet
September 4, 2020
Due to the continued outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Labor Roundtable believes that holding the Labor Award Banquet this year would not be in the best interest of Labor, elected officials, candidates, guests, citizens of Clark County and/or the State of Washington. We have therefore made the decision to canceled this year’s Labor Award Banquet.
We are hopeful that soon the outbreak will be contained and next year’s Award Banquet will take place. With this in mind the Roundtable has already reached an agreement with the Vancouver Hilton to hold next year’s award banquet on September 24, 2021. Please mark your calendar now.
We are asking that instead of spending this year’s money for the award banquet, you send that money to one of Labor’s endorsed candidates. They all need your support and/or money! To assist in your selection of a candidate or candidates, here is a list of Labor’s endorsed candidates, (Washington’s general election) as reported by the Northwest Labor Press. (nwlaborpress.org/2020/07/a-union-guide-to-washingtons-aug-4-primary-election/)
We look forward to seeing you at next year’s banquet. Please stay healthy and safe during these very tough times! If you have any questions, please contact Roy Jennings (our Treasurer) he can be reached either by email email@example.com or by phone (360) 936-0045. As you know this is an extremely important election and this year so much is on the line! Please remember to vote, and do whatever you can to get your family and friends to vote!
Sincerely,Edward BarnesChairLabor Roundtable of Southwest Washington
